Old Willunga Hill is South Australia’s most famous climb, even though it’s not the area’s most challenging climb. Why is it so famous? Because the Tour Down Under often features a stage ending atop this climb, and Richie Porte charging up the hill with the crowd roaring in delight is an unforgettable part of the Tour Down Under experience for many.
Porte (now retired) won 7 stages that finished atop Old Willunga Hill. He’s also, unsurprisingly, the Strava KOM holder.
