I know the star ratings are only broad strokes, but the top wheelsets here have 4 stars for aero, and the tri spoke are 3 stars for aero (and 1 for weight), which suggests to me that if you already have a great wheelset you should stick with it for now!

Oh pants I’ve unlocked them but don’t know if they are worth using in a race. I need all the help I can get at my age and weight!

Thanks so much Aidan, that clears things up. I went for the all-rounder 62 option. When I earn more drops I might also invest in the disc version and change them out based on the course profile. Thanks again for your reply.

My understanding is that the star rating is a general classification system. So the 4 stars you see with the 62 actually still has a higher CdA than the DISC which you can see graphically here: https://zwiftinsider.com/charts-wheels/ . The DISC will excel on the flats and struggle on climbs while the 62 is a much more all-rounder, being above 75th percentile in climb and flat performance

Dolphin, Glasgow, Neokyo etc. (Ex: Aethos frame with deep section Zipps)

Obviously weight is weight regardless of what’s contributing to it, but I wonder… do frames and wheels contribute asymmetrically to CdA, thereby creating potential marginal benefits when mixing aero frame/light wheel or vice versa in certain scenarios?

The DISC versions score is Aero **** and weight * while the NON DISC 62 version is Aero **** and weight **** Non disc version is also 255,600 drops cheaper. It would be great to know as plan to buy one of them.

I’ve tried to test acceleration, but just couldn’t get meaningful enough data out of it.

Your test results are my go-to bible when gearing up for a ride. The fastest wheels are great for maintaining a high speed while the climbing wheels are great up the Alpe. But for race situations, it’s often the short accelerations that are decisive (especially the final sprint of course). Have you done any testing about which wheels are best accelerating? Which wheels (and frame for that matter) should I choose to finally edge out that spint?

Thanks for all your great work!
