The fraction of aero power is basically the square of the speed assuming you’re riding at the same power. So if you can do 36 kph on the flats, but are climbing at 18 kph, that means approximately 1/4 of your power is wind resistance, not considering rolling resistance. You’d have half wind resistance at 71% flat speed, or in this example, around 25 kph. So climbing at 25 kph you’d apply equal weight to climbing and flat performance.

As is, it’s a fantastic map, but is short at 14.3 km presently, and for events a nice feature of this climb is the long plateau which would provide some nice tactical opportunities. The IRL climbs is on grassy hills, so the modeling challenge for Zwift is relatively modest.

In contrast, the main flat loops in “France” are 23 or 24 km long.

Ive had this myself, I think it’s related to the character accelerating to find another person to go at their speed and will keep doing so until it finds one. Sometimes in this conditions however it will just stop, but definitely a bug!

I think I was actually leaning back in the saddle and yawning as it happened. I will have to try and do it for real at some point to assuage my guilt.

I’m lower Cat B and 1st effort at 3.5wkg in 17’40. I may give it another go on TT bike to see for myself. Long stretches were <3%.

Thanks for replying Eric! I’m interested in an analysis of what sort of speeds you need to be doing up climbs of different gradients to make aero preferable to lightweight. It’s always something I find hard to gauge 😄

I believe aero would win the day, although I haven’t actually tested it.
