The herd was an early adopter of Zwift and grew up on Facebook and had very early public events while Zwift was in its infancy so they never had to deal with the club issues expressed by Eric. So not a case study of current situation.

I feel that the club concept is only rudimentary at best. There is literally no way to grow a small club period. I’ve even gone so far as to make everyone mods so they can also invite friends. What is really required is visibility!! So your point of getting your events in front of the public is the only viable way for folks to discover your unique offering. HOPEFULLY ZWIFT actually acts on your requests but I’m not sure it’s within there interests to do so. Last point, the club chat is almost useless without the rich text features we have come to expect. Lack of Hyperlinks, pics, and limited text abilities all handicap the experience! I’m trying to run the club exclusively within Zwift but they make it almost impossible! Cheers and thanks for being our champion

I don’t think I even knew I was a member of your club. Am I?

My go to club and website for interaction with folks is The Herd. They seem to have a lot of things that are talked about in this post. I am curious as to why this would not be the case with all well-established clubs. Seems to me the members of The Herd are interactive on the site and show up in mass for events. The Saturday Thundering Turtles event had almost 300 participants this week. The Herd also has virtual as well as Kit you can order. They also have racing. I don’t know who the owner of the club is? BTW, I find you site very useful, but until I read this, I didn’t know you considered it a club on Zwift. That may be your first problem. It is clearly the best place to go for everything Zwift.

We have so many great routes that are one-way, non lapping. It would be nice to link one to another to be able to create events unique to the ride or event.

We would like to set up some aerobic cycling practice events, but currently the club cannot freely set up “fences” to ensure that all riders participating in aerobic competitions are in the same cycling group.😊

A lot of the people on our Meets Ups like to join the meet up and then grab their workout or free ride. Right now Group Rides in the club format doesn’t give you that option or am I missing something?

They certainly have the biggest market share of users against competitors by far, and that is Zwift’s biggest asset. I’d happily jump to another platform as I hear lots of great things about them in terms of racing, but there isn’t the critical mass to just jump on and ride with or against a load of randoms at most times of the day.

They do not have the monopoly at all there are plenty of alternatives… Some offering different and better options.
