Hi Ed. I’m about the same as you 6’2” and 250lbs. I only started at the start of January and loving getting on the bike in the garage and occasionally on the road weather permitting. I’m looking to loose lots of weight did you find biking helpful in loosing weight along with reduced calorie intake? I’ve just completed my first TDZ race yesterday and loved it but it was hard. I will do. Ore but not every week, once a month. Did you use the training workouts on zwift if so which ones did you find useful. My W/kg is around 1.4. Regards Big H

hi val. you can google the course you want to ride, just put in ZWIFT COURSE TITLE AND START & FINISH POINTS. It can be confusing using the mileage of the course as some have a mile or 2 lead in which dont count

How do I know when I have finished a course or even better, how far do I need to go till finishing the lap? I’ve now ridden both Richmond and Yorkshire and both times finished short! 🙁

I’m also trying to figure out how to get the full ride on my screen while riding.

Thank you for having this information out there.

Hi Ed – I feel your pain. I am in my 50’s and got bumped up to C. I did my first race and finished 9th or 10th out of maybe 12. I took a look at the results to see my stats. I noticed the name of the guy that won the class C for that race. He happens to be local, so I have met him a few times. He rode for Garmin many years ago and rode for United Health Care until maybe two years ago. Makes me wonder who is entering the A and B races.

I have a question about Zwift Power and how they DQ or not. I’ll be 59 in a couple weeks, I’m not the average cyclist (5’8.5″ and 215 lbs) so I’m a solid D class rider. Last year I started placing and occasionally winning races. I started hitting 2.5 and a couple times 2.6 w/kg and ended up getting DQ’d and categorized as a C. I took the summer off and now I’m back to D. I’m getting beat by guys making 2.8 w/kg (without a HR monitor) that aren’t getting DQ’d. Any idea why they aren’t getting DQ’d and/or getting bumped to C? That’s not to mention the guys that finish with 3.1w/kg that are getting DQ’d. I don’t know why guys race in a class they obviously don’t belong. I’m having fun, losing weight and getting stronger so I’m happy about that.

Thanks
